You can help Veterans and families make their dream come true.
Beth was unable to afford a place of her own. She and her daughter were bouncing between friends and family. After working closely with her New Ground social worker in the Long Term Housing Program, Beth was ready for a new home.
“I love my new place, my new job, my whole new life! I knew as soon as I saw my new place that it was just right for me and my daughter. It is huge! The rooms are really large and it’s quiet but also really easy to get to places from our building. And my daughter is doing so well in her new school. She loves her teacher and has made a bunch of new friends. Sure leaving New Ground was hard. I thought I had everything. But once I found my place I think I was able to see how much more I could still have. And thankfully New Ground helped make it happen.”
New Ground’s Homeward Bound Service Program provided Beth assistance with getting extra funds for the initial fees and costs for her market rent apartment, and helped her move in to her new home.
The Homeward Bound @ New Ground Service Program
As Veterans and families complete their goals in the program, they often need help to fully realize their graduation into permanent, stable housing. This program assists with:
- Obtaining the funds needed to cover first month’s rent, security deposits, broker’s fees, down payments, closing costs, or other costs related to securing a new home.
- Moving logistics including the help of a moving company.
- Furniture, household items, linens and all the necessities to outfit a new home.
