Meet the runners who are making their miles meaningful…
Meet Victoria!

Hi! My name is Victoria Sales🦋
Running has been part of me since I was little—that moment when Ana Gabriela Guevara won the gold for Mexico sealed my destiny! Ha-ha. And from there on I’ve been running: HS, College, NYRR, recreationally here and there ha-ha and trust me it doesn’t get old!
This will be my second half marathon for the NYRR and I’m very excited to be doing it along with New Ground! I’ve always been an avid advocate and activist for human rights, and New Ground really set the bar high by providing help in a way that it’s not just help, it’s more of a “I’ll guide you and go along with you to reach your goals” and such an approach is built through a lot of hard work from these amazing people!🙏🏼👏🏼
A little about me: I’m a mom of two beautiful tough cookies girls! who have made my life and running journey magical! They’re my motivation for everything I do, and whenever I’m about to cross that finishing line they’re all I think about💜

Meet Sarah!
My name is Sarah Crimian and I am thrilled to be running the United Airlines New York City Half Marathon on March 17th 2024 with Team New Ground!
I am a proud resident of a small town, Middletown Delaware. I am a devoted wife and proud mother of a 6 year old girl and 7 year old boy! My weekends are typically filled with soccer games for my son, horseback riding with my daughter, and long distance runs to continue my passion of running and racing. I have run the Boston Marathon, Chicago marathon, Berlin Germany marathon, Philadelphia marathon and an array of local full and half marathons to Delaware. I am a volunteer coach for our local elementary school’s track and cross country team (Go Eagles!) and try to take any opportunity I have to share my love of running with the youth!
It is such an honor to run on Team New Ground and join the movement to break the cycle of homelessness for veterans and families on Long Island. It’s organizations like New Ground that truly make a difference in our society by offering resources and support to our community members in need! I believe in the mission of New Ground and Sister Mairead M. Barrett’s dream to change lives and I cannot wait to run the Pavement in New York City representing this organization!

Meet Sohum!
Hi, I’m Sohum! I currently live in NYC with my cat, Bubba, and work in the HR space. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time outside with family and friends. And of course, running!
I’m excited for the opportunity to represent New Ground in this year’s edition of the iconic NYC Half Marathon. New Ground is doing incredible work to break the cycle of homelessness that many veterans on Long Island and their families face by not only providing short-term assistance, but also educational, technical, and emotional support programs aimed at empowering and enabling these families to function independently. Running became a part of my life during challenging times, and it has grown to mean much more than just exercise. Growing up on Long Island, I’ve always witnessed firsthand the strong sense of community that defines our area, and I’m thrilled to be using my love for this sport as a platform to make a positive impact in the lives of the veterans and families we aim to support!

Meet Eric!
Hi, I’m Eric Rooney and am super proud to be running the NYC United Airlines Half Marathon with the New Ground team. New Ground really stood out to me as a foundation to support because of their strong history of making long term and sustainable impacts on the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
This is my first time running a half marathon, or a race in general, but I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to hit the ground running!

Meet Kevin!
My name is Kevin Peragine and I am a 31 year old originally from New Jersey but based on Long Island. My experience with running began and ended as a middle-distance runner in high school track. It has always been a dream of mine to run a few longer distance races starting with a half marathon and hopefully ending with a full one. I am very excited to be able to achieve this goal while also raising money for a great organization like New Ground. When I am not training and working some of my other hobbies are Golfing, going to concerts and traveling the world with my wife Bridget!
