We are proud to announce the completion of the Bethpage Home!
This past September, construction for the Bethpage Home was completed as an extension to our Long Term Housing Program. Following receipt of a New York State grant to build housing for homeless Long Islanders, this single family home was built to replace an older structure donated to New Ground by a long-time supporter. The United Way Long Island oversaw the construction, and a beautiful state-of-the art three-bedroom home will now house another Long Term Housing Program family. With this home only a mile from our Levittown office, the school-age children residing here will participate in our afterschool Reading All-Stars and Tutoring Programs ensuring they are on track academically, and they will also have the foundation necessary to be successful in the future.
Thank you to our friends from The Home Depot!
The Bethpage Home could not a have been completed without the help from Team Depot. In July, Team Depot brought new life to the Bethpage Home by planting beautiful landscaping, setting up welcoming front porch décor, donating outdoor patio furniture and grill, and even building a vegetable garden for our families to enjoy. Thanks to Team Depot, our Bethpage Home was transformed into a beautiful living space for a new family. Team Depot is powered by The Home Depot’s associate volunteers and backed by the Home Depot Foundation. In 2024 alone, over 56,000 volunteers completed nearly 2,500 community projects across the country—and we’re honored New Ground is one of them!
