As of March 2025, New Ground extended its mission breaking the cycle of homelessness yet again, to support homeless survivors of domestic violence across Long Island. This year, New Ground became the sole recipient of the DVCE (Domestic Violence Coordinated Entry) federal HUD grant on Long Island. DVCE is a special part of our regional Coordinated Entry System that focuses only on survivors of domestic violence and their families. This program creates a confidential, survivor-centered housing entry system for people fleeing domestic violence.
DV-Focused services that New Ground provides:
- Support navigating emergency and long-term housing
- Trauma-informed case management
- Family-centered safety planning, including address confidentiality
- Victim advocacy and emotional support, including help with orders of protection and court accompaniment
- Referrals and linkages to local DV agencies
New Ground’s Domestic Violence Support Program is always in need of support in order continue providing the best program for our clients – whether it be a small monetary donation or a goods donation, every contribution helps better the life of an individual in our program. Join us in providing a safe space where survivors of Domestic Violence feel supported while working towards escaping homelessness on Long Island.
